Our Work.

What We Do

Promoting enchanting lands and transforming communities while safeguarding our iconic wildlife

Creating Harmony between
People and Wildlife

The Association  brings together land owners, community groups and conservancies for a common platform for airing their views, grievances and seek support towards promoting conservation agenda and investments in the Western Landscape. We engage in the following projects.

Peace & Security

Ensuring peace and security involves measures to prevent and manage conflicts, protect people and wildlife, and maintain order within the area. This  include employing rangers, creating security plans, and collaborating with local law enforcement to address issues like poaching, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal activities.

Support to Livelihood Programs

Support to livelihood programs involves initiatives aimed at improving the economic well-being of local communities. This can include developing sustainable agriculture, promoting eco-friendly crafts, providing vocational training, and facilitating market access for local products. These programs aim to create income-generating opportunities that are compatible with conservation goals.

Capacity Building for Conservancies on Wildlife Management

Capacity building involves training and equipping conservancies with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively manage wildlife. This  include workshops on wildlife monitoring, habitat management, anti-poaching techniques, and community engagement strategies. The goal is to enhance the ability of conservancies to protect and sustain wildlife populations.

Technical Support to Conservancies

Technical support includes providing expertise and resources to help conservancies address specific challenges. This can encompass a range of activities such as ecological surveys, data analysis, technology implementation (e.g., GPS tracking for animals), and advising on best practices for conservation management.

Tourism Development Policy Formulation and Implementation

Formulating and implementing tourism development policies involves creating guidelines and strategies to promote sustainable tourism. This includes planning infrastructure development, setting standards for eco-tourism activities, marketing the area to potential tourists, and ensuring that tourism benefits both the local economy and conservation efforts without harming the environment

Land and Natural Resource Management

Land and natural resource management focuses on the sustainable use and protection of land, water, and other natural resources. This  involve practices like reforestation, soil conservation, water management, and regulating the use of natural resources to prevent depletion and degradation. The aim is to balance human needs with the preservation of ecosystems.

Infrastructure Development

Infrastructure development refers to building and maintaining the physical facilities needed for the conservancy to function effectively. This  include roads, visitor centers, ranger stations, fencing, and water systems. Well-planned infrastructure supports conservation efforts, facilitates tourism, and improves the living conditions for local communities.
