Empowering Western Kenya’s Conservation Future at the SWEP Co-Creation Workshop

We’re excited to announce that the Western Wildlife Conservancies Association (WWCA) is participating in the Sustainable Wildlife Economy Pathways (SWEP) Co-Creation Workshop, taking place on August 27-28, 2024, at Zebu Lodge, Narok. This workshop, focusing on “Enabling a Sustainable Wildlife Economy in Kenya’s Rangelands,” is a significant opportunity for us to collaborate with like-minded organizations to shape the future of conservation in our region.
Our involvement in this workshop is a crucial step toward identifying and implementing sustainable wildlife economy models that can be scaled up across Kenya. These models promise to deliver value not only to biodiversity but also to local communities, ensuring that the benefits of conservation are shared equitably.
For WWCA, this is more than just participation—it’s about leading the charge in Western Kenya. The insights and strategies we bring back will directly influence our efforts to promote conservation that aligns with both national and global sustainable development goals. By being at the forefront of these discussions, WWCA is committed to driving positive change, fostering investment in the rangeland wildlife economy, and expanding opportunities for our communities.
We look forward to the collaborative efforts and groundbreaking ideas that will emerge from this workshop, paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for conservation in Western Kenya.
