Charles Ambunya

CEO & Secretary to the Board

Charles Ambunya is a highly motivated and dedicated individual with a strong passion for communication, conservation, and community development. Throughout his career, Charles has gained extensive experience in program planning, management, and implementation.

In addition to his role in the NGO sector, Charles has actively contributed to wildlife conservation efforts in Kenya. He serves as an Honorary Warden for the Kenya Wildlife Service, working to create an enabling environment for landowners’ participation in wildlife governance. As a board member of the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association and the Western Wildlife Conservancies Association, Charles champions youth engagement forums in conservation, promotes best practices among private and community conservancies, and raises awareness about wildlife conservation

Shalom Martha Wakhura

Administrator

Shalom Martha serves as the Administrative Officer at the Western Wildlife Conservancies Association (WWCA). In her role, she is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties that ensure the smooth operation of the organization. These responsibilities include managing office communications, coordinating schedules, maintaining records, and providing support to other staff members. Her organizational skills and attention to detail are critical in supporting the association’s mission.

 

Beyond her administrative capabilities, Shalom is deeply passionate about conservation. Her background in counselling psychology provides her with unique insights into human behavior, which she leverages to promote and support conservation initiatives. Shalom’s commitment to preserving wildlife and natural habitats aligns with the goals of the WWCA, making her an invaluable asset to the team.

 

Shalom believes that effective conservation efforts require not only protecting wildlife but also educating and engaging communities. She uses her skills and knowledge to foster a collaborative environment where conservation goals can be achieved through collective effort and shared responsibility.

Shalom Martha’s dedication and expertise contribute significantly to the success of the Western Wildlife Conservancies Association, helping to protect and sustain the rich biodiversity of the Western Landscape.

Ian Nambwaya

Accountant

IAN  serves as an accountant at WWCA. He brings a wealth of expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance to the role. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial statements, and implementing effective internal controls.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Moi University and is known for his analytical skills and attention to detail, which contribute to WWCA’s financial health and strategic decision-making.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends and changes. He is an integral part of the WWCA team, driving financial excellence and contributing to the company’s overall success.
